This message is from the District 8 Office of Manny Pelaez and applies to residents within the city limits of San Antonio: 

The City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) is inviting its customers to a free landfill day event this Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations: 

 

SWMD customers must bring a valid picture ID and a copy of their most recent CPS Energy bill showing payment of the City’s environmental fee. All loads must be covered with a tarp and customers are highly encouraged to wear a safety vest.

Accepted Material:

Household bulky items like appliances, furniture, and mattresses
Carpet, fencing material, water heaters, and toilets
Tires (limit six passenger vehicle tires per household)
 

Unaccepted Material:

Roofing material, sheet rock, dirt, brick, brush, lumber, construction materials
Industrial or commercial waste 
 

The City reserves the right to divert loads to other sites in the event of operational constraints. The City and its partners are not responsible for damage to vehicles or injury to attendees of the event. SWMD operates four bulky item drop-off centers that are free to dispose of solid waste and open year-round Tuesday through Saturday.
